How to Accept and Remove Your Instagram Permissions for Third-Party Apps

We’re seeing more and more social media scheduling apps pop up, and it makes sense — everyone is trying to manage their content better, post more consistently, grow engagement, and even decide where to spend money on ads.

We’re seeing more and more social media scheduling apps pop up, and it makes sense — everyone is trying to manage their content better, post more consistently, grow engagement, and even decide where to spend money on ads.

Because of that, we end up connecting our Instagram accounts to different third-party apps like Postmoore.

But at some point, you might want to:

  • renew permissions

  • remove access

  • or just see what apps are connected to your account

So in this blog, I’ll walk you through how to manage your Instagram permissions in simple steps.

Go to Your Profile

I’m assuming you’ve already connected your Instagram to a third-party app before.

Now open Instagram on your phone and go to your profile.

Tap the menu icon (☰) at the top right.

Find Website Permissions

From the menu, scroll down to “Your App & Media.”

Tap on Website Permissions, then select “Apps and Websites.”

Understand What You’re Seeing

Once you open it, you’ll see these three tabs:

  • Active

  • Expired

  • Removed

Each one shows a different type of access.

Active Apps

The Active tab shows apps that are currently connected to your account.These apps can still access the information you allowed them to.You’ll also see when you authorized them and their user IDs.

From here, you can tap Remove to completely cut off access or tap View and Edit to see what they have access to and change it.

Now let’s look at the Expired tab,these are apps you haven’t used in the last 90 days, their access has expired, but they might still have some of your data from before.

Removed Apps

Finally, the Removed tab shows apps you’ve already disconnected.These apps no longer have access to your Instagram account.

Now you can clearly see which apps are connected to your Instagram and manage them however you want.It’s a small thing, but checking this once in a while helps you stay in control of your account.
